Description

One of my favorite DSOs and a classic astrophotography target.  The first time I saw a SHO image of the Rosette Nebula was several years ago on AstroBin and it was one of those "wow!" moments.

Revision B is a starless version.

The Rosette Nebula (also Sharpless 275, Caldwell 49) is a bright HII region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in Monoceros.  Open cluster NGC 2244 at the center has been formed from the nebula's matter.  The nebula complex is about 5000 light years away and is roughly 130 light years in diameter.

Taken over several nights:  Jan 8, 9, 14, 19, 22 and 26, 2022.
